I guess my post last week (on Active Rain) Advice For Real Estate Agents, New Contest and Free Events didn’t get noticed…I know there are some Donald Trump Fans around who would like to get a free signed copy of Donald Trump’s newest book.  So here are the details:

Mr Trump’s new book Think Like a Champion is now in stores.  In true Trump style Mr. Trump is challenging his readers to think like champions.  To help get people in the right mindset the Trump University team created a new contest.  Read all the details in Donald Trump’s post Champion Challenge From Donald J Trump.  Winners will receive a signed first edition copy of the book.  Since I have some connections…I was able to get a singed copy to give-a-way to readers.  If you think you are a champion let me know in the comments below.

Let’s have some fun.

I have participated in a number of book launches over the years.  Some efforts were for Trump U and others for a few different books to learn from some interesting authors and how they were planning to use social media and word of mouth marketing to promote their book.

Today we launched our marketing effort for our new book Commercial Real Estate 101. When we checked the Amazon ranking a week or two ago the book was ranked #335,105 overall.  Not very high but the book was not available for shipping. Today is a different story thanks to our marketing efforts.

Our goal is to get the book to #1 overall but at a minimum to #1 in Business and Investing and the Real Estate categories.

So how we going to do this without spending any money on media?

There are two main efforts. The first is a very direct approach to our clients and customers offering them bonus material for helping us out.  Feel free to check it out if Commercial Real Estate Investing is your thing.

The second is to try and maintain our rankings and sales volumes by utilizing PR, social media, and networking.

How To Get Rich Books

At Trump University I conducted a number of book marketing efforts but today a book ad caught my eye. The title of the book How To Get Rich by Felix Dennis (founder of Maxim magazine) just comes right out and says what the book is all about. The ad’s headline is You’ll Never Get Rich Working For Your Boss. Who wouldn’t stop and read that ad? Very direct and to the point and hits at the heart of the subject matter. This book like so many of the others in the wealth creation industry shares the author’s secrets on how he made his fortune.

Other then a good headline and title I wounder what else they have planned for their marketing effort. I wouldn’t mind seeing their marketing plan for this book to compare notes.

The question remains whether or not people will choose Felix Dennis’s book over a Trump book. What do you think?
