Josef Katz brings 20 years of marketing expertise in a wide range of industries with a successful track record of growing startups. Throughout his career Josef has generated hundreds of millions of dollars in sales and well over 3,000,000 leads for sales and marketing follow up. Well-versed in all marketing and media tactics, Josef prides himself on solving marketing problems with strategic thinking and execution, rather than throwing money at a problem or jumping on the marketing buzz bandwagon.
Josef was employee number three at StraighterLine where he built the online for-profit educational startup into a successful marketing organization and a brand that is known and respected throughout the higher education industry. Before building StraighterLine’s marketing team and programs, Josef built Trump University’s initial marketing team and early growth including their international expansion. He has worked for other leading brands including Kaplan Test Prep where he was an integral part of their direct mail, email, Internet, and relationship marketing initiatives. Josef has also provided direct marketing strategy for Intel, NASDAQ, Nestle, Volvo, Philips Electronics, New Balance, and Rogaine. Josef was elected to and served on the Direct Marketing Association’s (DMA) Ethics Operating Committee. He was a member of the DMA’s CRM Segment Advisory Committee and has presented at the DMA’s annual conferences. Josef has judged the DMEF Collegiate Echo awards five times and is a member of Direct Marketing Idea Exchange.
Josef lives in New Milford, NJ with his wife and two children. When he is not hard at work, you can find him on his road bike, on the ski slopes, or BBQing for his friends and family – even though he hasn’t eaten red meat in 20 years.
